The Beginnings Of High School Research: Language Linky

Learning high school level researching skills has begun! Michelle is researching the Winnie-the-Pooh gang to see if they have alleged mental disorders.

I asked Michelle questions that would help to narrow the topic. My first question to her was which character would you want to to do a character study of first? To answer this question she looked at the various mental disorders that have been placed on them. Michelle decided to start with Winnie-the- Pooh. I then explained to her that we must look at our findings objectively and must not begin with our feelings that Winnie-the-Pooh has a mental disorder, or he doesn't. We are researching to find these answers and when you have completed your research and armed with evidence then you may come to a conclusion.

Winnie-the-Pooh is said to have ADHD and OCD.Together we started reading the first story in The World of Pooh when Winnie-the-Pooh was first introduced. We found just by reading the first couple of pages that Winnie-the-Pooh has undergone some name changes. We also found out that he was about five years old. This new information got Michelle really going! After we read the first story Michelle wanted to know if  Winnie-the-Pooh was five years old then she wanted to know what behaviors are attached to five year olds.

Michelle then remembered I had the book Now we Are Six. I then stepped out of her way and she has been reading, writing, and researching.

There are other important books that Dr. Michelle needs that we are waiting to arrive at the library. The books are medical books that are a bit on the expensive side. I just love the library!!

I would love it if you link up your Language related activities that you have been doing or done in the past. Please remember to link to your exact post not your blog. Also if you link back here it would help readers of your blog to be able to find other linked activities by other bloggers. Thank you so much!!
